Der Klassiker, the Nordderby and current clubs
Der Klassiker is Bayern Munich versus Borussia Dortmund. The Nordderby between Hamburg and Werder Bremen also appears in the 2026/27 schedule. These names make fixtures easier to recognise, but history supplies neither an expected result nor a preferred selection.
Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Schalke and the other current participants make this season different from older club lists. The 2026/27 module identifies the teams promoted, retained and relegated for this edition.
